James Beach - The Best Fish Tacos in the World!

I’ve been eating at James Beach since before it was James Beach.
James Beach is special to me – it’s been a favorite hang out of mine for years, but it’s also where Julie and I had our first date. Owners, James Evans and Danny Samakow (ask them which one is the beach!) are amazing restaurateurs – they “get it” and get it right. As Danny says in our Los Angeles episode of Travelscope Television, James Beach is a magical place, “where a very creative city—Los Angeles—meets the magical West Coast vibe of the beach.”
As many years as I’ve been going there I had not tried their fish tacos. Recently I watched “I Love You, Man” and saw that James Beach’s fish tacos play a prominent role . So, of course, I had to try them. They really are the best fish tacos in the world—gourmet fish tacos no less.
If you haven’t found Venice’s best restaurant, here’s my best tip. Monday night is half-price wine night and that’s significant given the huge wine list available. Yet, weekends are also special as the bar is certainly the place to see and be seen.
