Avoiding Jet-Lag

What time-zone am I in?

Sometimes we can’t even answer that question.  Here are a few strategies that help when city – or country-hopping.  First and foremost, avoid caffeine and alcohol.  Tough but true.  We recently discovered No-Jet-Lag, a natural jet-lag preventative taken during your flight .  It works!

Additionally, here are a few more tips.  Even if you’ll be in a time zone for only a day or two you’ll acclimate much faster if you are able to make yourself wake early enough to work out.  If running isn’t a safe or climatic option, most hotels have fitness rooms.  Even though your body knows it’s too early to rise, drag yourself out of bed early enough for a quick workout and perhaps even a swim and sauna.  You’ll thank yourself later in the day when you’re more energized than your friends and colleagues.

Try not to eat a heavy dinner and when you finally get to your hotel room, don’t turn on the TV.  Instead, run a warm bath and relax – it really will help you sleep.  Pack a few things to make you feel at home, like some warm socks and flannel pajama pants.  The few minutes you may have to relax will be more like a retreat if you have just a few comforts from home.
