It’s a
pleasant ride from South Australia’s capital city of Adelaide aboard a Sealink Connection Coach to Cape Jervis and then a forty-minute ferry ride
aboard Sealink’s Sealion 2000 to Kangaroo Island.
Kangaroo
Island is Australia’s third largest island.
The 93-mile long and 33 mile wide island is a refuge for
Australia’s unique wildlife. Numerous
birds, koalas, kangaroos, wallabies and more run free. Penguins, seals, dolphins and whales frolic in its
pristine waters — more than one third of the island is National and
Conservation Parks.
Flinders Chase National Park is a 290 square
mile wilderness. It is the
home of kangaroos, wallabies, possums, goannas, koalas, platypus and more.
It’s the second largest park in South Australia and especially
noted for its natural state, wildlife and lack of introduced predators.
On foot, by bus and four wheel drive I wandered into places where
the average tourists can not go.
Besides the wildlife there are geological
wonders to visit on Kangaroo Island -- the Little Sahara, The
Remarkable Rocks and Cape du Couedic and Admiral’s Arch where a colony
of New Zealand Fur Seals flirt, fight and frolic on the rocks and among
the waves.
Sit back, relax and Enjoy the radio show and the video.
And as an added bonus, revisit Kangaroo Island with travelers Dave and Carol Warwick, hear Travelscope's South Australia Wine Country Adventure and get a visual taste of South Australia's Barossa Valley Wine Country with wine lovers Dick and Judy Silva.
