The Colors of Malaysia 

 

Travelscope experiences multi-cultural, multi-religious Malaysia when Joseph takes part in the "Colors of Malaysia Festival. The national celebration spotlights the different states and people of Malaysia through music, song, dance and costumes.

Participants come from all over Malaysia, spectators came from all over the world and even the king and queen are in attendance. Malaysia invites the world to the party. Each year thousands of visitors come for the festival and stay to explore this exotic land. In Malay, the festival is called "Citrawana which translates as "Merry Colors. And, indeed, the participants from each of Malaysia's 14 states merrily show their colors through their dances, songs and native costumes. Above all, what stands out is the wonderful way Malaysia's many cultures live together and celebrate together. It's a joyous time!

Malaysia Ecotourism Spotlight

Putrajaya Wetlands Park in Putrajaya, Malaysia, the federal district outside of Kuala Lumpur, is considered the largest constructed freshwater wetlands in the tropics.  The area is also a wildlife sanctuary which attracts a wide variety of birds.  Several species of local marshland birds and water birds including the Little Egret, the Little Green Heron and Cinnamon Bittern and other migratory birds have been spotted there.

Part of the Putrajaya Wetlands and open to the public is the Nature Interpretation Centre which is a center for research and the compilation of data on water and plant studies. This hexagon shaped building incorporates the traditional design of Malaysia's rich heritage.  Situated near a dam, it has a pedestrian walkway, a exhibition area and restaurant.  Visitors can also enjoy a leisurely walk, jog or cycle along its bicycle track

The Putrajaya Wetlands Park is located in Putrajaya a planned city and Federal Territory that acts as a federal government administration center of Malaysia moved from the overcrowding and congestion of the capital city of Kuala Lumpur.
